Stacy Uliana

Stacy Uliana has been practicing criminal in state and federal court for almost thirty years. She has tried jury trials ranging from misdemeanor Operating While Intoxicated to Murder. She has successfully defended multiple death penalty cases, reaching agreements that spared her clients’ lives, and has helped exonerate wrongfully accused individuals. She has appeared on multiple national news programs to discuss these cases. She is a graduate of the National Criminal Defense College Trial Practice Institute. For years, she taught trial skills to law students as an adjunct professor at the McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. She continues to teach Crime and Madness, an undergraduate criminal justice course at Indiana University – Bloomington.

Stacy also has a robust appellate practice. She has written over 200 appeals and argued at least 30 times in the Indiana Supreme Court and Court of Appeals with much success. Early in her career, she co-authored many practice manuals on various aspects of criminal defense law, including evidence and search and seizure. Stacy currently serves on the Indiana Supreme Court Rules Committee and the Seventh Circuit Advisory Committee on Circuit Rules. On both Committees, she provides her perspective as an experienced criminal defense attorney.

In her life outside of the law, Stacy enjoys her family and friends and loves to travel. Stacy has three sons. She also has run marathons and half marathons across the country. In 1993, Stacy was Rookie of the Year in the Little 500 bike race at Indiana University.
